The Annual Hometown Christmas show featuring America's Hometown Band and some of Muncie's favorites is 7:30, December 12th at Emens Auditorium. The Royerton Elementary Children's Choir, the Ball State University Saxophone Quartet, the show stopping singing of the Magic City Music Men, and local treasures Myles Ogea and Jackie Allen will be singing the season's best along side the Hometown Band.

Come join us for a festive evening filled with the joy and cheer of the Christmas season with your friends from America's Hometown. Admission for students is free and adult tickets are $10 at the Emens Box Office.

The 2009 Hometown Christmas features AHB symphonic music of Alfred in a display of Russian Orthodox folk melodies and traditional Christmas songs. This year’s soloist include notable Ball State School of Music graduate, Myles Ogea and newly appointed BSU popular music lecturer and performer Jackie Allen. Myles, a most frequent Band soloist is remembered for his major role in the School of Music’s production of The Marriage of Figaro. Jackie most recently recorded an album with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra entitled Starry Night. She came to our community after a successful singing and teaching career in Chicago and is the wife of Has Strum, BSU Professor.

The Magic City Music Men are one of the oldest continuous performing musical organizations in Muncie. Led by Tony Millspaugh and Bob Fey, they have thrilled audience on Muncie stages and have successfully competed in many national convention of the Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartets in America.

The outstanding Royerton Children’s Choir has had a long history of singing in the holiday spirit. Under the direction of BSU graduate Jan Morris, the choir has performed for the Indiana Music Principals Association and America Sings in Washington, D.C. And many local events. This year the Hometown Christmas is honored to have them on the Emens stage.
